The CE-Marking states that the product complies with one or more EU safety regulations and is attached to entire products or devices. Our products are electronic components, so-called basic components, which are not subject to the CE marking requirement. The relevant guidelines in detail:

Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU

The Low Voltage Directive applies, according to its Article 1, to the safety of "electrical operating equipment "provided that the operating voltage is within the limits of the Low Voltage Directive. The Commission's Guide to the Directive states in its § 7 that basic components are not electrical equipment and therefore they are not covered by the Directive. Accordingly, the Low Voltage Directive does not apply to basic components "whose safety can only be correctly assessed when installed and for which a risk assessment can not be performed".

Against this background, a CE-Marking of electronic components according to the Low Voltage Directive is not possible.

EMC Directive 2014/30/EU

According to article 1, the EMC Directive regulates the electromagnetic compatibility of "equipment". According to Article 3, these are "devices" or "installations". Conformity assessment and CE-Marking of individual electronic components in this sense is therefore not possible according to the EMC Directive.

Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC

The Machinery Directive regulates the safety of complete machines. In two exceptions it also contains provisions for machinery components: "partly completed machinery" and "safety components". Incomplete machines, referred to in Article 2, point (g), are known as "an assembly that almost constitutes a machine". In principle, this does not apply to an electronic component.

Safety components can in principle also be electronic components. The prerequisite for falling within the scope of the Machinery Directive is, however, that the components are given an express purpose by the manufacturer for fulfilling a safety function in accordance with the Machinery Directive.
Otherwise, a conformity assessment and a CE-Marking of individual electronic components according to the Machinery Directive is not possible.

RoHS Directive 2011/65 / EC

The scope of application of this directive initially extends only to "devices" but not directly to their components. Irrespective of this, the RoHS Directive directly regulates not only end devices but also their "accessories" and "spare parts". Under special circumstances, electronic components could fall into these two categories. However, the RoHS Directive does not provide a CE-Marking for accessories and spare parts, but only the obligation to comply with the substance bans.

Electronic components can therefore not be labeled with the CE-Mark in accordance with the RoHS Directive.

None of the above legislation covers basic components.
A CE-Marking or declaration of conformity is not intended thereafter and would be inadmissible.
